When Jeff Kyle, HPE VP & GM Mission Critical Solutions, stood before the audience gathered recently in Atlanta for the ATUG Regional User Group (RUG) meeting, two of his comments resonated with the community. The first was a reference to “we, at NonStop, create data” whereas the second was more of a challenge thrown out to all NonStop competitors, “NonStop – won’t Stop!” In one short presentation, Kyle touched on NonStop’s role as a vital source of data created while running mission critical applications whereas the challenge reiterated what makes NonStop viable today; it’s fault tolerance is as relevant an attribute as it ever was even as it attracts dissension from those who think good enough is well, good enough! For your NTI team the month of June concluded with participation in the N2TUG event held outside Dallas at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center, Grapevine, Texas. The venue proved to be a good drawcard for the NonStop Regional User Group (RUG) members, with attendees filling the meeting room throughout the day. Always a good litmus test of the interest in all things NonStop, N2TUG didn’t disappoint and we were encouraged by the strength of the community.  There is much to be said about RUG events these days and it’s all positive – with so much change happening at HPE and with as much engagement as there is today between HPE and the NonStop team, who would want to miss hearing about NonStop whenever an opportunity presents itself? Reflecting on everything that took place for the NonStop community during 2018 is now well and truly over. So much was announced by the HPE NonStop team that the full impact of what is planned for delivery in 2019 is beginning to take shape – it will be exciting to see what new projects will see the light of day within the NonStop user community.
