NTI wonders; do you know the way to San Jose, or rather, to your computer?

The boys are back on the diamond swinging for the fences while others are taking to the grid iron. Cars are once again racing on track even as rugby down-under is heading for finals. Everywhere you look in these troubled times, there are contests underway and the crowds may be cardboard cut-outs, but there is no denying that competitions are being taken seriously, no matter the contest.   When it comes to technology, competition couldn’t be fiercer. The potential to get your message before millions of “eyeballs” has become the main marketing outlet for many in business and for good reason, there are fewer readers of traditional media and network television is under real threat from streaming services. Hands up if you have access to channels from Amazon Prime, Netflix and Disney+? Point is, none of this is lost on the NonStop community as we watch vendors vie for prominence in any decision-making situation.   One of the real benefits NonStop users enjoy is a cons...

SunTUG was the place to be – news and updates provided by NTI

RUG events kicked off in earnest in February with all roads leading to Tampa, Florida, the Sunshine State. SunTUG has traditionally pulled together a very large cross section of the NonStop community and it didn’t disappoint in 2020 – close to 100 attendees participated in the two days of planned activities. When it came time to giving away gifts as the show came to a close, it was Jim Keene of JPMC who took home the prized NTI iPad. NTI has provided a strong support to RUG and GEO events worldwide where our message has resonated well with all members of the NonStop community. However, together with our colleagues across the NonStop vendor landscape we are now being challenged as authorities are aggressively dissuading events of any kind from taking place. To this end, we are adhering to any requests for postponements or cancellations on the understanding that it is our responsibility to comply with requests for social distancing. Nevertheless, NonStop systems continue to b...

NTI – Clouds, Analytics, Data Lakes and Warehouses; with DRNet® / Vision NonStop users can have it all!

There isn’t a day that passes where there isn’t a reference to clouds in industry publications – whether public or private clouds, managed or otherwise. These almost constant references to clouds are driving the conversation within the IT industry to the point where almost any other model for data processing, as we have known IT for a number of decades, is considered legacy. And yet, for the NonStop community, with its affinity for fault tolerant platforms in support of mission critical applications, the move to support clouds will be at best gradual, with a degree of caution, with many baby steps as the NonStop users come to terms with applications and data moving to a platform that in and of itself is fragile in comparison to NonStop.  Following on from the introduction of NTI’s key message of PRO Visioning : Excellence in Data – ready to deliver data from NonStop to almost any imaginable target – products are now being unveiled. And the conversations concerning clouds ar...

NTI – Replication is just the starting line …

Across North America the headlines are focused on upcoming sports activities. There are playoffs under way in both professional basketball and ice hockey and of course cities around the country are awaiting the draft of eligible college football players looking to enter the ranks of the football profession. The U.S. isn’t alone when it comes to professional sports as many countries have routines in place to ensure there is a balance maintained when it comes to new talent entering professional sports and even for a member of a professional team there are still other lotteries and auctions held for assembling teams from the professionals, be that a football all-pro team in gridiron or something more global like the auction Indian cricket conducts each year to populate its lucrative cricket teams for a short term explosive competition. Whatever sport is of any interest to you there is one common denominator – making it to the starting line. If the goal is visibility in prime time, g...

NTI – a single strategy for DRNet® to deliver data to where it is needed now!

“By focusing on data as it has done for quite a long time, NTI is aware that just over the horizon, and only now coming into view, are (heavy) demands being placed on data. While much of the press eloquently portrays an upcoming tsunami of data following IoT connecting to our networks, it is the expectation that enterprises will be able to transform away from being reacting to where they are more likely to be predictive and prescriptive. And by this, it is NTI’s belief that a variety of tools already in use will demand greater access to data of every kind, be that from sensors on machines to transactions on terminals.” If it’s been a while since you last checked out the latest feature article published in the digital publication, NonStop Insider, then you would have missed seeing the above that was part of the March, 2019, issue. And while it is NTI’s belief that a variety of tools already in use will demand greater access to data of every kind it’s equally NTI’s belief tha...

NTI – a strategy unfolding for data integration that includes support for Splunk!

NTI has expended considerable energy to better understand the evolving dynamics inside today’s modern enterprise. Central to this pursuit was the recognition that data was no longer being used only to support specific applications and as such benefited from data replication solutions, but was needed elsewhere in the enterprise. Whether this data was subsequently ingested by big data solutions or loaded into data lakes, having access to data became critical for the analytics and deep learning algorithms in place at these enterprises. Data can no longer be considered as transactional data, operational data or simply historical or archival data – it is just data and it has a value. This value is what is now being aggressively pursued by enterprises as they differentiate their product offerings from those of their competitors. “It really has come down to behavior and expectations,” said Tim Dunne, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales, NTI. “It isn’t any good to know that a custo...

Great Southern Land – taking it all in at OzTUG

The event for the Australian and New Zealand NonStop communities has always seemed an attractive alternate venue to those NTI regularly visits in North America and Europe. The distance is always a concern, but NTI has members of the NonStop user community that have been staunch supporters of the company for a very long time. Those Financial Institutions in this part of the world that run payments  products from FIS – formerly eFunds and before that Deluxe Data – are well acquainted with NTI and so the opportunity to catch up with people we have worked with for a very long time proved too hard to ignore. The team from NTI was headed by Tim Dunne, NTI Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales, but also included Cody Newton, NTI COO, and Andrew Pham, NTI Software Engineer, and they all were present for both OzTUG Sydney and OzTUG in Melbourne. NTI would like to thank HPE’s David Gilbanks who came through with a really good show. Attendance was excellent, particularly in Sydney, whe...
