NTI – Clouds, Analytics, Data Lakes and Warehouses; with DRNet® / Vision NonStop users can have it all!

There isn’t a day that passes where there isn’t a reference to clouds in industry publications – whether public or private clouds, managed or otherwise. These almost constant references to clouds are driving the conversation within the IT industry to the point where almost any other model for data processing, as we have known IT for a number of decades, is considered legacy. And yet, for the NonStop community, with its affinity for fault tolerant platforms in support of mission critical applications, the move to support clouds will be at best gradual, with a degree of caution, with many baby steps as the NonStop users come to terms with applications and data moving to a platform that in and of itself is fragile in comparison to NonStop.

Following on from the introduction of NTI’s key message of PROVisioning: Excellence in Data – ready to deliver data from NonStop to almost any imaginable target – products are now being unveiled. And the conversations concerning clouds are taking place even among the strongest of NonStop proponents and for good reason. Think clouds, then Hybrid IT and then virtualized NonStop – get the picture? NonStop is now in the thick of the cloud conversation and who would have guessed such a development just a few years ago. Acceptance may be gradual with plenty of baby-steps involved but NonStop integration with cloud services is inevitable.

Under the branding of
DRNet® / Vision, NonStop users have seen DRNet® / Vision for Splunk become available and it’s only the beginning. Anticipate seeing more from DRNet® / Vision in support of other technologies that in all likelihood will see DRNet® / Vision expanded to embrace support for
Hadoop, Kafka, Elasticsearch and any other application accepting input through JDBC and intermediary databases / servers as well as those that can best be served directly via the just-announced support by DRNet® / Vision for JSON messages!

DRNet® / Vision
is the answer for NonStop users wanting to capitalize on real time data and metadata being created by applications running on NonStop that the enterprise needs to integrate with data from elsewhere in order to gain better insights into end-user behavior. As a tenured, well-respected HPE NonStop solution provider, NTI has designed a lightweight solution using JSON to extend current capabilities or coexist with other replication technologies. This support for JSON messages obviates the need for the presence of any intermediate or staging server so it decreases overall costs of the solution even as it improves the performance of the JSON solution. This topic was covered in the August, 2019 feature article to NonStop Insider: NTI – Delivering on the promise of JSON support, NTI can now deliver a major upgrade to its DRNet® data integration product offering! where Tim Dunne, NTI Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales said:

“Simply stated, with support for JSON messages we open the doors for the NonStop community to better integrate NonStop data with any data lake, warehouse or analytic process required of them by their organization.

“It takes so little work for the data to begin flowing from NonStop to any of these platforms and in using CDC methods, it also means that we can coexist with any of the traditional data replication products including GoldenGate.”

Whether your data lakes and warehouses and your analytics and even your dashboards are running on-prem in server farms or in private clouds or perhaps even within public clouds, this is not an issue. As HPE continues to drive home its key message of transformation to Hybrid IT, it is important to be aware that this message isn’t being lost on vendors like NTI. As HPE continues to make progress in migrating its enterprises users to Hybrid IT, with DRNet® / Vision enterprises’ NonStop systems in place have the opportunity to participate in enterprises’ key initiatives as they pursue greater competitiveness with their peers.

DRNet®/Unified for HPE Customers; On-Prem and “as a service,” NTI delivers!

HPE Discover 2021 may already be a distant memory for some but the messages that were coming out of the event will be resonating with the industry for quite some time. Looking beyond the “age of insight” and even HPE becoming “a world leading edge to cloud platform as a service company,” it is now very much a case of HPE bringing the cloud experience to the enterprise.   Not surprisingly, the byline for this story is the bigger message that the enterprise data center will be with us for a long time. This isn’t to say that cloud service providers will not be making their presence felt in these same data centers, one way or the other, but rather recent events have further reinforced the value proposition of being your own IT master.   With the cloud experience coming to a data center near you, enterprises can benefit from the best of both worlds. The security and robustness from on-prem computing together with all the flexibility that comes with cloud experiences. For th...

DRNet®/Unified for HPE; aligned with HPE messaging for 2021

Sometimes you can be fortuitous in your planning and even lucky with your messaging. Then again, you might be able to put it down to the interactions between team members that drive conversations to where ideas flourish and images take shape in your mind. For much of 2021 the NTI team has been engaged in such processes and it has led to a reimagining of how best to present the DR Net ® product suite while complementing earlier messaging with a number of modern touches.   Where our conversations led us was to an appreciation of safety, of reduced risks and of having confidence in your partner! Whether it was the Americas’ Cup yacht races in New Zealand or simply a trip to the coast to watch other sailboats, the idea of reduced risk brought to the fore the images of a safe haven and a bay with a lighthouse. For many vendors, even those we may be familiar with and have served the NonStop community well for a long time, images of lighthouses have been a good way to project ...

NTI continues to grow ecosystem of partners to better serve NonStop community

It would be hard to miss the growth in the ecosystem of partners NTI has attracted. The NonStop community is familiar with the DR Net ® product suite but this hasn’t stopped NTI reaching out to product, service and consulting companies to ensure NTI’s coverage worldwide. The presence of these partners in an ecosystem does two things for the company; it reassures prospects that there have been others before them, so risks are greatly reduced and it reinforces the NonStop community at large that the company and its products provide a compelling reason for others to consider DR Net ® in the future.   A lot has changed within the NonStop community. HPE has invested in the NonStop product line and there are numerous options available to the community. NonStop continues to be sold along traditional lines as a converged system but it is also available as a virtual system on customer-supplied x86 servers. These options have become well known, but perhaps even more interesting is...
