Last week – drilling for oil; this week, panning for gold

This weekend it’s off to Leipzig, Germany for the big pan-European NonStop GTUG event featuring all things NonStop. I am about to head off even as I begin winding down for the week – the weekend will be a time for travel and hopefully, I will see many of you in Leipzig as the event kicks off Monday afternoon. If you have as yet not checked the agenda, you may want to do so as it can be found at: http://www.gtug.de/HotSpot2018/download/Agenda.pdf

With pre-conference workshops scheduled on Monday afternoon featuring blockchain, it certainly is going to attract considerable interest from the community – if you have missed any of my recent posts to other social media forums you will already know how bullish I am about the future for NonStop with its support for blockchain and distributed ledger technology. What it comes down to is that an important new technology from HPE, with almost no limits to how it can save business money, has hit the marketplace and not just with any product, but featuring HPE NonStop!

When you peruse the agenda, make sure you check out Wednesday morning, 9:15am, as this is when I am scheduled to present on NTI - DRNet ® OPEN for Hybrid IT! I will be up against some stiff competition in that timeslot and I sure would like to see you in the audience – should be a fun and interesting presentation as I will cover some territory that may be new to you. So no, don’t miss it! And of course, I will be available for Q & A following the session just as I am sure you will also be able to find Tim Dunne, Global Sales VP, nearby and equally as willing to answer any questions you may have.

Don’t forget too to check out the May issue of NonStop Insider for the latest feature on DRNet ®

NTI: Bringing value of partnerships to NonStop customers.

A popular Australian industry commentator, Kim Brebach the Content Chief & Business Strategist at Tech Torque Systems, recently posted to LinkedIn an examination of our over-reliance on terms that could best be described, for the most part, as being nothing more than a string of clichés. To drive home the point, Brebach pulled together the following: “I’m no visionary, evangelist, or thought leader either. A man has got to know his limitations. Visionary. Evangelist – I love amazing words that take your writing to the next level. And fancy ones like mesmerize, incentivize and monetize. Let's think strategically for a moment: if we put amazing words like these together with powerful clichés, we'll have a marriage made in heaven. We could own this space, right?” We may smile to ourselves as we read the above but coming as this does after we have all sat through many presentations on products and services that were given at this year’s All-Digital Experience, there were numer...

DRNet®/Unified for HPE Customers; On-Prem and “as a service,” NTI delivers!

HPE Discover 2021 may already be a distant memory for some but the messages that were coming out of the event will be resonating with the industry for quite some time. Looking beyond the “age of insight” and even HPE becoming “a world leading edge to cloud platform as a service company,” it is now very much a case of HPE bringing the cloud experience to the enterprise.   Not surprisingly, the byline for this story is the bigger message that the enterprise data center will be with us for a long time. This isn’t to say that cloud service providers will not be making their presence felt in these same data centers, one way or the other, but rather recent events have further reinforced the value proposition of being your own IT master.   With the cloud experience coming to a data center near you, enterprises can benefit from the best of both worlds. The security and robustness from on-prem computing together with all the flexibility that comes with cloud experiences. For th...
