News continues to be bleak
when it comes to events. For the NonStop community it’s more a case of there
being plenty of support for events even when they cannot take place along
traditional lines. The NonStop community has always been a community that
enjoys opportunities to network but 2020 is a year in transition. For the
foreseeable future it looks as though all events will be virtual!
Questions are now being
asked as to whether this is the new reality. The new normal, if you like.
However, history shows that communities adapt rapidly to changing conditions
and as much as we like to network, it seems more than likely that virtual
events will become increasingly fashionable. It’s hardly likely following
investments in support of virtual events to see them fade away.
News out of Europe has
just been received informing us all that the pan-European event hosted by GTUG
will not go ahead as planned. Already postponed once, moving back from May to
be rescheduled for September, the travel restrictions in place for most of the
NonStop community meant that the likelihood of NonStop users showing up was
getting slimmer by the day. GTUG will now be holding a virtual event the
details of which will be publicized shortly.
For NTI this news didn’t
come as a surprise. Having said that, NTI is fully behind virtual events and
will be supporting GTUG to the fullest – hope you tune in to hear the
presentations. Like many of our peers supporting the NonStop user community, we
have become adept at working with Webinars, Podcasts, GoTo meetings, Zoom video
conferencing and more. It’s just the way of the world these days and wherever
you find the NTI team, they can be online ready to help in any way that they
can.
One of the more obvious aspects of traditional events had been the opportunity to see vendor partnerships at work. The NonStop vendor community has always fostered cooperation between vendors and at NTI we have enjoyed working with many familiar names. Going virtual, we can only talk about these partnerships but rest assured, between the various management teams there is even more cooperation going on that we can recall seeing in the past.

Taking this one step
further, we are really pleased to be able to talk about the success NTI is
enjoying with the partnership it has with TANDsoft. We are pleased with the
willingness of the NonStop community to embrace our latest product offerings FS
Compare and FS Repair. Equipped with these products we are also pleased to see
the NonStop community willing to entertain migrating off legacy offerings,
poorly supported, to DRNet®. As
for your team at NTI this has been an encouraging sign as NTI continues to
invest in solutions best suited to day’s new world of edge-to-core
“everything-as-a-service” model for hybrid IT.
Partnerships and
migrations were the theme of the most recent article published in NonStop
Insider, NTI
applauds the commitments companies are making to NonStop; Business Continuity
remains a priority. According to Tim Dunne, NTI’s Global
Director, Worldwide Sales:
“It’s been a very good quarter for NTI
in spite of all that we have been subject to as COVID-19 continues to infect
our communities.
“Having introduced TANDsoft’s FS Compare and
FS Repair to our customers where we knew there would be a real need we have now
seen interest in both products grow considerably.
“Providing even more encouragement for
us here at NTI has been the traction we see developing that confirms DRNet® as a capable, direct replacement for
alternative incumbent replication technologies.
“This upward trajectory in sales that
we were confident would happen for some time now is just further proof of how
well we are addressing the needs of NonStop users. This has led to several ‘new
logo’ initiatives underway for our premier business continuity product
offering, DRNet®.”
